Ariel no longer looks like she is wearing an ice cream topping for hair in “The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure” at Disney California Adventure.
The attraction was closed last week to make that and a few other changes to the ride, as reported in this story.
After the ride opened, people on many Disney fan web sites commented on the appearance of Ariel’s hair in the “Under the Sea” scene of the ride, saying it looked like “an orange Dairy Queen” among other comments.
John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of the Walt Disney Company and Pixar reportedly asked for the changes, according to Miceage.com.
Along with the hair, changes were also made to two of the short animated scenes in the ascent and descent sections of the ride.
